New location to support 25 new jobs, host charity give–back event
Sevierville, Tenn. – A new Outback Steakhouse® is bloomin’ in Sevier County and bringing 25 new jobs to the community. Located in Sevierville at 1705 Parkway, the new Outback will officially open to guests on May 3 at 11 a.m. To mark the grand opening, a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10:45 a.m. on opening day, organized by the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce.
“We are so honored to be a part of the Sevierville community,” said Andy Garmley, managing partner of the Sevierville Outback location. “We’re looking forward to welcoming our friends and neighbors on opening day with delicious food and to give back to a great organization.”
As part of Outback Steakhouse’s ongoing nationwide charity give-back program, and to show its support for the Sevierville community, 50-percent of opening day sales* will be donated to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville Emergency Response Fund, which supports the affected communities that fell victim to the vicious fires that swept through the Smoky Mountains.
“Sevier County’s recovery from the November fires is in large part due to the strength of the community,” said Scott O’Neal of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. “This donation from Outback reinforces its place in the community and will help provide assistance both immediate and long term.”
The new Outback Steakhouse replaces a previous location in Sevierville, which will close on April 25. Guests at the new Outback will be able to enjoy signature grilled steaks, chicken and seafood entrees, and the Bloomin’ Onion in a restaurant boasting the chain’s new “Modern Australia” design, with décor that mirrors the indigenous flora and fauna, adventure, geography and leisure of modern day Australia. Featuring a spacious dining room and bar areas able to accommodate 282 guests, the 6,965-square foot restaurant will employ approximately 108 employees, about 15 of whom are new hires.
*Up to $5,000.
